We need to put our Trust in the Lord

Psalms 40:3-4 reads

3: And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it and fear and shall trust in the Lord

4: Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respected not the proud , nor such as turn aside to lies.

A lot of times we put our trust in everything but the Lord, and a lot of times we get let down.  But if we will put our trust in the Lord and not everything else, our Christian walk would be a lot better.

So put your trust in the Lord and let him work everything out.

I love the Lord with all my heart.

See ya next week

A Letter From God

When the ministers were asked to write something for the web bulletin, I immediately began to panic.  First of all, I am not a very good writer.  Secondly, I have only preached one message so far.  In my opinion, I barely squeak in to the “ministers” category.  So naturally I decided to decline this most intriguing invitation.  However, my newly saved, sanctified and fired-up dad would not take no for an answer.

As I was flipping thru my bible trying to figure out what to write about, I came across a letter.  The letter was dated November 2007 and said…

Nacole,

I’ve been wanting to tell you this for three weeks but I’m not very good at writing letters.  I am very proud of the work you do here.  Since I am not very good at writing letters, I want you to write this down and put it in your bible to remind you for years to come.  I am very proud of what you do here.

The last line of the letter really stirred my spirit.  “I am very proud of what you do here.” Wow! What a statement!  This letter was from someone that I have a great deal of respect for; someone that holds a high position in our church; someone that I didn’t know even took notice at little ol’ me.

Each time I read this letter it warms my heart, encourages me and helps me go on a little longer.  But tonight was different.  I looked at the name at the end of the letter and began to wonder what the letter would say if it had been from God.  Would it still say I am proud of what you do here?  Would it say I am pleased with you? Would it say that you need to do more?  Would it be something I would want to share with other people or would it be something I was ashamed of?

Today I challenge you to search the corners of your soul and examine your daily walk with the Lord.  If you were to get a letter from God, what would it say?????

Have a blessed week,

Sis. Nacole Smith
